Sunset over the Bay of Palma: the best hour to set sail

The Holiboats team 1 min read

For many, sunset is the best hour to be at sea. The wind drops, the light turns golden and the Bay of Palma falls quiet. But "the best hour" shifts with the season.

When to set sail, month by month

In May and June the sun sets late, close to 21:00, so the sunset trip starts later and you still feel the warmth of the day. In September and October it gets dark earlier and the air comes cooler: bring a light layer and head out a little sooner so you don't miss the best light.

What makes the sunset special

It is the calmest trip: the sea is usually flat, there are fewer boats and the cove is yours. And it comes with the complimentary bottle of cava, to toast just as the sun touches the water.
